The credit union depends on volunteers from its membership for a number of roles:
The Board of Directors must be elected annually by the membership from the membership to oversee the work of the credit union, ensure that its business is conducted effectively, fairly and within our regulations.
The loan committee is also elected at the Annual General Meeting and its responsibility is to make decisions on loan applications.
The supervisory committee, elected at the AGM is responsible for checking paperwork and transactions for their accuracy and to ensure that the credit union is operating within its own rules and within the law.
General office duties that include filing, photocopying, typing etc.
Volunteers who serve on the main committees are expected to undergo checks because of our legal responsibility to our regulators.
